So, I'm back...after a l-o-o-o-o-n-g haitus. I was having some health problems, specifically my right eye fogged over in what doctor's tell me is Optic Neuritis. That added to a whole host of other issues, but I'm feeling well enough to try this again. I've missed you all, and I look forward to more sarcastic word-slinging as time marches on. Yours Truly, M.D.

Holy Week

Well, Easter is almost here. I have been resolute and successful in my lenten promise...I have had zero ounces beef, actually no red meat since before Ash Wednesday. But, I can't say as though I have lost weight. I feel fine, but not more than 5 lbs off. I didn't do it to lose weight though, I did it as a personal sacrifice, and it's been tough, but I am learning from my giving it up.
Sorry I haven't posted much as of late. I will get better, and more entertaining. I promise. : )
Happy Passover, Holy Week, and Easter!

Ash Wednesday 2010

So, thus marks the beginning of the Lenten season and as such I am going to take a more disciplined approach with my life: Diet, Organization, Live my values, Follow-up on my goals. (Whew, it won't be easy.) Yesterday I weighed myself and I weighed 27 pounds heavier than I did at the begining of November 2009, just a short 90 days ago, something has to change. Also, I have given up Beef, fast food burgers, and anything that is fried. This will be a sacrifice, and a difficult one. Also, I continue to struggle with a little weakness for a certain thing that I pray I wil be relieved from soon. Pray for me please. :)

This will end in shock-horror-failure, I'm sure....
Well, people have asked why I don't have a blog, assuming the implication is that I am so arrogant, nay vane, I need one. That assumption would be one-hundred (100) percent (%) correct. So, here goes: I have poor editing skills and even lazier proof-reading interests.
The things which interest me are not necessarily mainstream, run-0f-the-mill, interesting, or dare I say...normal. My interests beyond myself tend toward the fringe, a tad eccentric one might say. I enjoy travel, politics, theatrical and cinematic arts, Roman Catholicism, men's traditional and classic-traditional fashion (how Roman Catholic, I know...), gentlemanly pursuits, games of chance, skirt-chasing, general carousing, all things England, most things Iowan, almost nothing urban or trendy. I have a generally universal fear, that this site, my ramblings, will follow me forever (since they're put out here in the ether of the WWW) and that any future political endeavours I may care to pursue will be ruined before they are sought (due to some politcally-incorrect, rude, overtly-sexual, or plain ignorant comment I've written). As I have stated before, I am sure that all this effort, this so-called "blogging" for vanity--it can only end in shock-horror-failure. --MD
